Thanks Stephaen. I have many of the same values, so I may be contributing to Pete's retirement fund here soon. For now, I'm going to explore what all the Koetsu has to offer now that the azimuth is correct. I've really enjoyed the Zu/Denon, especially for the money involved. But it just doesn't dig into the harmonic detail like the Koetsu...

Hi becowan,
The Koetsu sounds yummy, but is out of my pay grade.
Hopefully the sorted out az issue will serve you well!
Don't believe everything you think.

The headshell on my 294 arm is very simple to adjust for azimuth. It is easily twisted. If yours is that hard then someone has jammed it and deformed the arm. Try getting a (very ) firm grip on the arm and put a small screwdriver though the slot in the headshell and twist carefully. It doesnt need to be hard jammed back into place. After a firm push mine has held its place for over three years.
You can always send the arm back to England to the manufacturer(which I have done for another problem). They are really good people. Be sure to include return shipping.
Larry at Hollywood Sound( Hwdsound@aol.com) is the distributor and can fix anything about a Nottingham. Another good guy.
