I own a home-made equivalent. I bought a PTP "top plate" (meaning a 2-piece unit of 3mm thick steel cut to mount the bearing and motor) from Peter and contracted to have a slate slab cut to fit it. I then mated the two together myself and also added a huge aftermarket bearing assembly. I also took some steps to damp the stock platter. It's a lovely combination, looking and sounding. I would guess that the Reinders version is similar in sonic quality to mine. For a bit more money, there is also the OMA/Lenco, made using slate, like mine. OMA have made other improvements as well.
