Empire 2000T, Empire Stylus, Empire clip in cartridge holder
Thinking I should lower the tonearm slightly to level the body.
Suspension seems to be riding low at 1-G VTF.
Thoughts ?
Thanks,
Ross

Table is a Techincs SP-15
Arm is AT 1503-III
Purchased as a combo
I checked arm location, and measurements are correct.
I verified -0- VTF by setting TF to 0 and adjusting the counterweight so the arm floated level. I set VTF by sliding then locking the set weight.
Arm height is adjustable, and I will lower the arm slightly such that the stylus block is level with the LP surface.
Still troubled about how low the cartridge sits at 1g VTF and wondering about the suspension.
Thanks All.
appears cockeyed. That shouldn't be the case either.
Search Empire 2000T images and some look about the same. The arm does look low, though I don't know if you can really raise it without making the stylus angle wrong ...
Stylus sits higher than mine.
Top of headshell appears to be level; mine isnt.
Thanks.
Top of headshell Does Not appear level on that one Either.
Plus the arm seems as too low.. Also.
Could be parallax? But unlikely on two photos.
No, it doesn't. The first thing I would do is raise the tonearm at its pivot. If the arm doesn't have a means to adjust arm height, dismount the arm and put shims on the plinth, then reinstall the arm. Washers are probably the best bet for easily available shims. Other posters have pointed out the proper way to set VTF, which I would do only after raising arm height. Hope this helps.
What's the tracking force? Looks too high. When the tracking force is set to zero does the arm float level? Looks like a Japanese arm and table. You know zero isn't zero unless you calibrate it by making the arm float level. Cantilever not visible, stylus body about to contact the record.

32 words in the post and a pretty fair percentage are dedicated to the VTF.
Agreed were it not for the fact that the OP specifies VTF as 1G. Begs the question how this was verified. And the arm looks like it is set too low as well although this is difficult to tell from the limited view of the picture.OP; the Empire carts do not necessarily have a body that should be horizontal. The upper mounting plate should be parallel with the disc* and defines the angle of the body. I think you need to raise, not lower the arm.
* For initial setup. Small variations may be necessary to set correct SRA.

Ive seem several carts that mount like that. I've also seen many people say the tracking force is one gram because the counterweight indicated one but was not calibrated.

A very good observation/point.
