The azimuth of the cutter head varies with each record, much like SRA.
Azimuth must be set for the "mean" of record-to-record variations, and that is best done by listening to many records, and adjustment by "ear" for best "overall" sound quality.
The Fozgometer has issues, and uses one record.

What issues does the Fozgometer have other than the test record? I evaluated a Fozgometer several years ago and it performed flawlessly with repeatable results. During the test I discovered different test records gave different azimuth results, but that's not an issue with the Fozgometer. It's an issue with "azimuth of the cutter head that can vary with each record, much like SRA."
Some users report inconsistent readings with battery voltage changes (over life of battery).

Some users make their measurements at the phono cartridge output. There will probably be inconsistencies if you do that. I found the Fozgometer works best when measurements are made from the phono stage output.
