I just received my new Soundsmith Denon DL-103R with all the mods that Peter himself did. All I can say is this is some of the best work on a cartridge I have seen and I can't wait to set it up to hear what I have been hearing and reading.
I had all mods done except the OC mod.
Here are some pictures below.
Thank You Peter!

on my Uwe ebony body DL-103.
It retains the great midrange of the stock 103 while giving greater extension/detail both top and bottom.

Go with at LEAST the Ruby Cantilever/OC stylus! I have done it THREE TIMES to my Ortofon Kontrpunkt A, and have never looked back! It sounds incredible and actually BETTER to my ears (not just different, BETTER)!
My 'table is a Linn Frankenstein, so some of the parameters cannot be adjusted as Peter suggests (azimuth for one. VTA/VTF, yes) and yet it still rocks!

with the CL stylus. That's good enough for me.

I'm still in awe of the work they did on my Zu 103. It was good anyway, but they made it better.
What he and his company are producing for the industry -- when as well know other factors
are at play on personal level for Peter
is indeed a benchmark and we can only support his products even more
Kudos forfold!

I will get the CL with another Baron cantilever if it needs one.

Because that looks like delicious sausage.
Looks like a composite to me.
So cork AND sausage? Niiiiiiice.
I crack myself up.
It looks great! I hope to be sending him my 103(C) soon, but I will be in the cheap seats (aluminum cantilever/ elliptical). I hope you enjoy your cartridge.

and go for the CL, and Ruby or Baron cantilevel. I didn't do the OC mod because it is not as forgiving with some setup errors, requires very accurate setup to sound best.
I got lucky and grabbed the last wood body Peter had.
I have no affiliation to this seller other than being a happy customer. Really fine wood work. I find Panzerholz to sound best in my system.
just wanted the Soundsmith wood body and just have them do the work. :)
Go for the $250 or $350 jobber! And then think in terms of cost-over-time. It comes out WELL in your favor. Seriously, you will not regret it.
