Four tonearm turntables - anyone besides me...?
Edits: 01/29/16 01/29/16Follow Ups:
Three arms are just enough....
If three arms are just right, how could four be "way too many?" Wouldn't four be just "one" too many? ;-)
Also, you're missing "the best pick-up arm in the world!" ;-)
"the best pick-up arm in the world!"........which is?

That would look lovely in my living room......
Gotta love America
I will slum with the Ikeda (?). I already have a Fidelity Research and will never replace it.
I do like the convenience although it does kind of say overkill in a nice kind of way.
Happy for the owner. I would sit down in front of it for sure.
Your Fidelity Research FR 64FX is a great tonearm and far superior to many recent and more expensive tonearms. It is sure a Keeper.i had it together with a FR MC 202 cartridge and it played very nice. Also with a Denon DL 103R but then not so good as the FR MC 202.
But then i tried with a Ortofon Spu Royal GM MKII and it was another level. Fantastic ! And it is a 10" tonearm.
i would say that this tonearm was made for the Ortofon SPU, just like the Ikeda.
The schick tonearm (with the Ortofon SPU 90TH Anniversary) was inferior with the same Ortofon SPU than the IKEDA and the FR tonearms.

I have an FR 64s....will never replace it either. It's 30+ years old now, as is my Micro Seiki BL-311. Served me well for a long time.
.
Why would anyone need a table with 4 arms?
"No one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky...."
While never having more than one arm mounted on a table at any given time, I would imagine that the ability to use multiple arms and cartridges would make the table quite versatile for various types of music.
For example, one arm / cartridge combo might excel at Rock. Another at small Jazz ensembles. The third for full orchestration, etc.
Seems to me that it would be a nice feature to have instead of the expense of four different turntable, arm, cartridge set-ups. Eliminating the cost of three tables would allow for a larger budget for arms and cartridges.
Aesthetics aside (which I don't find bothersome, but but some other posters do), the use of multiple arms and cartridges on a single table seems logical to me.
Two identical arms on one TT is helpful in making close comparisons between cartridges. A third arm is nice to have for a mono cartridge. I live with three arms on one TT. It's about the most fun that you can have in analog. I wouldn't trust any pro cartridge reviewer who lacks an identical two-arm set-up for on-the-fly comparisons. Audio recollection is fallible.
Four arms are prone to accidents. Even with three you'll occasionally catch a sleeve and send one bouncing.
It's a tribute to Micro Seiki that they thought the whole thing through decades ago.
I also add identical cables from tonearm to SUT / phono preamplifier
In my case I have two 12" tonearm for high mass low compliance cartdrige, one 10" for high to medium mass low compliance cartridge and one 9" tonearm for low to medium mass and medium to high compliance cartdriges.
i don't believe in universal tonearms and i never found a tonearm that could be used with all kinds of cartridges.By the way i also have two more turntables - Kenwood KD 7010 ( FR MC 202 Cartdrige ) and a PIONEER PL51A ( Shure V15 Type III with JICO Styus).
Finally let me say that iam not a DJ just a analogic fan...

Analog fan is right and maybe just a little understated. More like Analog fanatic. Count me in, I love it.
Yup, and like you and slapshot I just love my FR tonearm. Have two rebuilt FR cartridges by VDH and Soundsmith. I use the Ort Kontra B with soundsmith's top rebuild and it is extremely engaging. Listen for hours without fatigue.
Great setup
Why is not important for a lot of folks that dream with this new inovate turntable...http://www.techdas.jp/analog_05.html
