I posted this yesterday in the music forum. I'll try again here.
There is nothing I'd like more than for someone to re-issue the full Alison Krauss and Union Station discography on vinyl.
Considering the prices the used records fetch I am surprised that no one has done it. (I am aware of the two Mofi releases.)
Has anyone heard any rumors about the possibility of this happening in the future?
Follow Ups:
I have so long so wrong and paper airplanes, which I bought new, as well as a noisy copy of two highways. I have them all on CD of course but I'd like to have them on vinyl. Even if there is no sound improvement I'd have more fun playing the LPs.
The soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou, which has many songs from AK & US, is on LP - wonderful 2 LP picture disc. I bought it yesterday during the "Black Friday" Record Store Day at Vinyl Solutions in San Mateo, CA. I'll play it today and post a follow up.
I haven't heard anything. Diverse Records in the U.K. issued 'New Favourite' on vinyl back around 2002 and I bought a copy at the time. I was 'floored' to see some time ago how much this is being offered for these days. I have a number of AK SACDs. The only vinyl I have is the Mofi 'So Long, So Wrong' and the more recent 'Paper Airplane' on Rounder. There are a lot less reissues these days that are of interest to me, it seems. That is probably not a bad thing altogether as I really have more records that I need! However, some AK and AK & Union Station vinyl reissues would be welcome.
i too, love allison, but her recording has been done in the digital era and she has never been as marketable as the pop divas of her day. i have so long so wrong on vinyl and it is very good but not stellar.
