Here's the story. You've got a first generation Origin Live arm (the Rega mod) and a Soundsmith retipped Ortofon X3MC. You also have a complete Thorens TD-150. Do you rebuild that TT or purchase one of these armless ones? Yes, you have to spend your own money this WTF? Both decks are ca. $300.
Sonographe SG-3 (it's armless):
or Technics SL1200 MK1:

I already have two but I'm biased so I'll keep the TD 150 and do some minor tweaks. Because it's a high serial number Mk II I'll keep the stock arm on it for a while. If the arm performs like the others I have I'll then sell the spare Rega-based arm, sell the Ortofon cart, combine it with the $300 I've got, mod the Thorens arm with some custom stainless steel counterweights to replace the lead ones, implement Steve's springless mod, and go cart shopping.

...so I'll be the one. I like the way it looks and I'm fond of vintage, so being an original SL-1200 appeals to me.

It's a nice table, I'm just cost sensitive this week. Sometimes I make stupid decisions to avoid spending.

No, it just means you own a Grado. ;-)

Cute.

If I had more time to tinker, I'd go for the Thorens, but ,sinceI don't, I'll go for the Sonographe because it's pretty.

I'll opt for the Sonographe
Then I'll rebuild the Thorens later...
Happy Listening
Nice choices, I am partial to a bit of DIY and these are in my price range to play.
The TD150 is a good table, thus tempting and the arm is nice. But I would want a different cartridge.
On the Sonograph I get all the acrylic, sort of an upgraded AR and I can still get new motors. Sound benefit , longevity and a Jelco arm will win the day. Ortofon VMS20EII with NOS stylus.
Technics is a great table as others noted but all the mods will cost too much. Sonograph with the acrylic is ahead here though the DD is better than the Hurst motor.
Decision is Sonographe, then TD150, then Technics. Throw a few KAB mods in and my decision will change.

Well, I'm a little biased...
My original Sonographe, refinished with new SOTA main platter, sub-platter and bearing.
I'd take another one to set up with a mono cart.
Did you have to change the springs to support the extra weight of the SOTA platter?
I remember the Songraphe as being ...um ...kinda' springy.

No, but it sits on a tile over concrete floor, so the springiness isn't an issue. When I had a converted walk-up condo in Chicago on the third floor, I couldn't walk anywhere near the turntable while it was playing.
Opus 33 1/3
Therefore, you're disqualified. Sorry! ;-)
Opus 33 1/3
I'd have to put on all the KAB (and similar) mods to make it (to my ears) the way I could like it.
Disclaimer- I DO like the 1200. It is a workhorse of a table. Used to use them for DJing as well (sans the typical Stanton carts of the late 80's, preferring ATs). I even started hi-fi life with an SLQ-200 back in the day. I'm just saying that I would have to add on a lot of stuff to the stock 1200 to make it sounds less, well, hi-fi and more musical...
Peace.
