Steve Reich Music for 18 Musicians. A rush.
Follow Ups:
That was the only RSD release I wanted, but could not figure where I would have a chance at it. So, I don't have it right now...
...however, I get my tax refund this week and will be looking online for a 'spare' copy :-)

I have that one on CD and it's good. The vinyl should be great. How much did you pay? (No SRP on these on the RSD website.)
USD $35.Very nice vinyl - flat and quiet. Initial impression is that it's not a "knock-you-out" audio spectacular - the nature of the music dictates that. The instruments are very discrete, though - I suspect that it will pay off over repeated listening, as I sit quietly (perhaps through phones) and subtle details are revealed.
Now listening to Glass Einstein on the Beach - original Masterworks pressing. That one is more of an audiophile spectacular, with a very wide and deep soundstage and tight, visceral low frequencies. The voices in the first segment especially are eerie - set up across the field and deep behind the speakers.
Will probably be minimaled out by the end of the evening.

Heard Reich do it at Big Ears Festival here in Knoxville a year ago. Was really knocked out by it (in a good way). The attached URL is about the best performance I've seen/heard. Reich is at the board.
I have the original Tomato version of "Einstein" but haven't yet had the courage to listen to it ...
