WTF = Which Turntable FridayPremise: There are four items pictured below and you may pick one for free. Please tell us why you made the selection you did. Inquiring minds want to know.
After several weeks of high-end choices I took things down quite a few notches last week. Some folks did not seem happy with the choices and will likely be even less happy this week.
I thought it was high time a little levity was injected into WTF. A chance for us to take ourselves a bit less seriously.
I hope you didn’t have your hopes set on choosing between state-of-the-art tables again, because I don’t think I’ve offered any this week. But opinions do vary.

/VW Bus Record Player
Car 45 Player
KISS Record Player
Lego Record Player
Since I already have a way to play music in the car and am not a KISS fan, I’ll pass on those. The Lego table is way cool (see link below), but I’ll go with the VW bus. I’ve got a big bin full of flea market LPs that I don’t care about and think it would be cool when having friends over (all of whom expect to hear quality sound when at my house) to plop a record on the coffee table between the chips and the dip, put the VW on the record and watch it go round. A great conversation starter and no doubt fun to watch. Maybe I could even mod it... better tires for superior tracking. LOL.
So, what’s your pleasure this week and what is the rationale for your selection?
Have a great weekend.
Dean.

...Well, maybe once or twice with a "junque" record just to watch it and listen to it work.
Later Gator,

Give me rhythm or give me death!
They all look like vinyl killers to me. With the possible exception of the Lego TT.
"The torture never stops"Greetings Freek.
Don't really have an interest in using any one of them but the car 45 player would fetch big bucks to a vintage car collector. Would pay for a whole lot of records.
Apparently the recent emotional upheaval in your life hasn't hurt your sense of humor any, and I admire that greatly. Good for you, D Man!
I was gifted with one last year. This one came with bunch of stickers.
I can't believe how much this stupid thing is going for on Ebay.
Anyways, I thought that the Lego turntable was cool till I've listened to the YouTube clip.
For a novelty record player, I'll take this instead.
my kids are getting into vinyl, and wow, they would love this one
Psycho Circus indeed!
I am a 2000 man... thus I'll Take the Kiss RP :)
Comes with a Black Diamond :)
Sounds even better with some Cold Gin, as you Air Guitar to Dr Love lol!
call me friend. If this ain't the most damned oddest thing out there I'm not sure what is. I just went to Amazon, out of stock. Then I saw the $99 price tag. I think I'll show my oddness in a different way

"Have you a water buffalo?"
It's not even fun, except to look at. Just getting it into position on the record is a chore. There's not even enough room for my surfboard. It might possibly be acceptable if Cheech or Chong accidently left something behind in the bus.
High-end record playing VW buses! You could organize a group of the top analog / automotive / toy designers and start a KickStarter campaign. Keep it under 5 grand and I'm in.
You'll be a zillionaire!
Hence I imagine I needn't even bother to say which I picked.
;)
I don't like Kiss and its tonearm doesn't look so good.
The VW bus doesn't have wide enugh tires to properly hold tangency.
No room under the dashes of our cars for the 45 player.
That leaves the Lego. I like the looks of the tonearm. It's modern considering is has an LED. I bet the motor is heavy duty. Looks like you can dance to it playing a record. I'll give it a 93!
I'd love to have that Car 45 player, especially if the car came with it. :-)
I never collected 45s but I'd start a collection if I had that dash-mounted turntable. Maybe get one of those neat-o portable 45rpm record cases.
Great choices this week, Dean.
Regards,
Tom

My girlfriend while I was in England was a rich kid with a Rolls Royce "appointed" Mini that had a 45 player.

And you didn't marry her? For a wedding present that Car 45 player could have been mounted in a Rolls Royce. '-)
Regards,
Tom
I have an 8-year old granddaughter that might like it. She'll have something to play records on when she comes to visit. ;-)
(told'ya there wouldn't be any text)
I also will take the Under Dash 45 player -
I saw one in a '54 corvette as a kid - I WANT it!
That's my choice for sheer cool value and drunken entertainment. Here is a link I found...

I've wanted one. And for free, who could pass on that? It would go right next to my 8-track player, also under the dash of, preferably, a '64 Dodge Dart with 3 speed on the column and straight six! You wouldn't be giving one of those away, would you?
I know it was several weeks back that the Oracle was offered, but at the time I was unsure. Well I've made my decision, and the Delphi it is.
I'll get back to you later with today's options, but so far the Kiss unit is leading the pack.
Me Too!

Analog Junkie
would be my choice. Always liked the VW bus and how cool would it be to make it play a record...Way Cool.
Not a Kiss fan (except for their first album). The lego is interesting ,but I don't have room for it. I'd take the car player, except there is nowhere to mount it in my car. So there ya go.
enjoy,
mark
...couldn't you have least gotten a hybrid or electric vehicle instead of the VW Bus?? :) The Lego one looks remarkably like many high end choices these days!
