Tonight I lined the entire inside of my record cleaning machine with cut to fit sections of UltraSonic Acoustic Panels (Mennard's) in order to cut the noise. Nice !!!

We should be able to recommend a noise-canceling system for this, although I've never seen one. Isn't it possible to have 'active' noise canceling with a nearfield mic/amplifier/speaker?
I want to know and would buy one immediately, if not for record cleaning then for the blenders in the kitchen which I possibly HATE the sound of ;-)
Nice DIY, but keep in mind the heat generated by the vac motor. Even w/o the insulation my vac on the MiniPro2 generated so much heat it deformed the plastic upper section. I suppose cleaning 10 LPs at a time was too much to keep temp doen. I had it repaired and added some cooling vents to the plastic coverand so far so good.
about two feet away and blowing over the chassis. This is not a good idea if the house is dusty however. I have been too lazy to install a computer style fan and opposing vent hole. I only do 9 records at a time, in order to allow cooling.
This is a photo of the finished underside with the bottom layer set in place.
Some time ago I owned one of those deluxe all wood models. I am sure that the heavy wood box made it noticably quieter than the lesser units. My guess is that lining my current NG brought the noise level down to at least that of the all wood model. If I still owned an all wood unit, I would still line it. I am sure the reduction in noise would be less overall. I used about 2 1/2 panels to line all six sides of my NG. I used latex caulk/adhesive and some double sided scotch tape to hold things in place. It made a perfect one evening mini-project. It was fun.

Please let us know how much of a reduction in noise there is. As much as I love my Nitty Gritty 2.5FI, you really can't listen to music while it's running.

I never though of doing that. Did it make a big difference? I have a Nitty Gritty which looks like yours. I just may do the same.
