According to the Knob the PL-12D was an early belt drive that sold very well as it was a smoothy in operation in comparison to the more mechanically assertive rim drives of the time.
The 112D was a later model that wasn't quite the star as competition never sleeps.
Always thought was attractive. With Shure M111HE, a backup bought new decades ago and probably used 100 h, if that, lol, sounds pretty good. No really. ;)
It has a spring suspension which works just like all such, i.e. don't go near damn thing on a springy floor/needs stable support. LOL

Don't get me started on the Pioneer Pl-12/12D-112 TT! But you did! Hehe my all time favorite cheap thrift/flea/Ebay vintage TT.
There are differences between these models though. I still have my Pl-12(1st model) and i won't sell it. It has a spring suspended motor mount which results in a nice quiet behaviour. Its successor the Pl-12D is noisier due to the motor mount with rubbers. I don't know the Pl-112D personally although i once did a quick setup on my brother-in-law's Pl-115 with semi-auto. Sounded fine after mounting a new Jap headshell with new cartridge.
I fixed up 5 or 6 Pl-12D's, the last one had a totally stuck main bearing, even that one could be restored to former glory. I usually remove the bottom plate and put the Pl-12D on rubber pucks or spikes. I mount a somewhat longer belt to reduce the rumble. You should remove the old foam from the springs and put new foam in. That way you can dampen the springs so the TT doesn't jump up and down all the time.

...they are one of the best values in vintage audio.
They sound good and last forever.
Enjoy it.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Nice table. I upgraded to a Connoisseur BD1 with a Mayware arm.

I owned and used a Bang & Olufsen Beogram TX-2 (spring suspension belt drive linear tracker) for many years. It was virtually impossible to make it skip. I could pound my fist on the table it was sitting on, jump up and down on the floor and it would never skip.
Wall shelf is the way to go for sprung suspension tables or or houses with suspended wood floors.
