I first played Rubber Soul. Rather a thin sound. But that may be my setup was cold.
At this point I played Please Please Me and it was wonderful. So is The White Album, which is on right now.
I did not buy the box. I am buying individual Lps I like.
The music has less of a veil over it.

So far, everything about is has been fantastic, from external shipping box to the LPs themselves:Packed in a strong shipping cardboard box with formed dense foam packaging, so the actual box containing the LPs was in perfect shape
Foam packaging in the box set, along with two dessicant packs.
Hardbound book with excellent photos and commentary
Each album in a reproduction of the original artwork
Each album in a resealable outer cover
LPs (4 so far) I have played have been flat and dead quiet. Kudos to the pressing plant.
Sound has been excellent. More distinction between voices and voices (rich vocal harmonies with each voice distinct), voices and instruments, instruments and instruments. John's voice on the early albums has a slightly raspy/throaty quality I had not noticed before. Really nice attacks and decays. Inner detail is really great - the old saw "I'm hearing things I hadn't heard before" applies to many of the tracks.
I had resisted buying earlier box sets (Blue Box, MFSL, etc.), so I can't do a direct comparison. But this set is phenomenal. Brings back so many memories.

Played Rubber Soul first for two reasons - it is my favourite overall and it suffered the most from the hard panned stereo treatment. Okay maybe tied with Revolver but now we're splitting hairs. I have a Parlophone mono that I really liked but the RI blows it away in my mind. Drive My Car did seem a bit thin but I nearly teared up when Nowhere Man came on and everything else sounded fine. And jazzthusiast was right in his comment in the thread below - Side 2 of MMT is better than the Horzu and German Apple stereo.
All of the discs in my box are perfectly flat, appear pristine, and the ones played so far are completely silent. I honestly couldn't be happier.

O.K. ..., WOW!
Just ... WOW!
This was the last of the standard LP releases I'd played from the box. My wife and I were kinda sorta saving this and “Revolver” for last. (And we still haven't opened the shrink on the Mono Masters – probably get into those tomorrow.)
It's been a knock-out almost across the boards, but “Rubber Soul” is killer: top to BOTTOM (such bass!), clear, open, coherent.
They really did mach Schau! with this one.
I've had the box since late last Saturday. We've heard from “Please Please Me” through “Help" and “Revolver” through the first 2 sides of “The Beatles.” If there's no unexpected interruptions tomorrow, we should hear “Rubber Soul” and the last 2 sides of “The Beatles.” We'll likely spread the three Mono Masters discs over Sunday and Monday.
While I'm (“we're,” I should say – my wife is a bigger Beatles fan than me) really happy with everything so far, there's been two not-quite-as-stellar bits. Side 1 of “Help” sounds less open than everything else. My guess is that the mix was aimed more at the movie than the album. Otherwise, the only gripe I've got is that there's a noticeable "swoosh" in the vinyl on much of one side of “Magical Mystery Tour.” I'll probably exchange that.
The short version is "We're very, very happy we sprang for these discs. There's been lots of big smiles here lately."
I did the same thing as you. I bought Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, and the White Album. I can't believe how good they are. I have a very early pressing of the mono White Album and this is even better. I can't believe how quite the vinyl is. Why can't all LPs be like this.

...Mine from SoundstageDirect were in "shipping label created" status in PA on the 12th. The notice I got today said they had been "accepted at the NJ Origin Facility" on the 20th, and that I should expect them in CA on the 27th! That is definitely the slowest Media Mail, I believe it is, delivery I've ever had.
But I'm cool. Knowing the packaging that SoundStageDirect does, it'll all be fine ONCE they get here.
See ya. Dave
... and The Box arrived two days earlier than the USPS website said that it would.
Fingers crossed that you have similar good experiences.
Jack, I am beginning to think that most of my recent purchases are this good.(material quality wise) Also, any idea where the serial numbers start ? 9,000,000 ?
