Just dug out an old chestnut...Midnight Blue/Kenny Burrell (Classic Records Re-issue) for it's inaugural spin with my recently acquired Zu-103. It sounds so much richer and more alive than I ever remember it being on my system. This is going to be a great holiday listening session! So what are you spinning?
Follow Ups:
Capitol pressing. Exceptionally well recorded, produced, mixed & mastered. Mastered at Artisan Sound by Greg Fulginitti.

I've spun up the Bud Shank "Michelle" & John Klemmer "Barefoot Ballet" albums.
Left the rat race for good, I hope, June 30th.
Waiting on the finally released Tron Soundtrack from Audio Fidelity. Elusive Disc just shipped it yesterday, so here's hoping I'll have it by the weekend (and that the new neighbors are away so I can crank it up!).
Other than that, it's anyone's guess what will be spinning at Chez Dman's this weekend!

I would have e-mailed you but you don't accept e-mail. Please feel free to e-mail me with your impressions, if you'd not post. Thanks, Bill.
Just to be clear, I have never heard a stock 103 or the Zu 103, but have owned and listened a lot to both the stock 103r and the Zu103r (which I had retipped at SS last year). I went with the $250 line contact and have been extremely happy with the results.
The juicy midrange and swing factor we all like in the 103s remains but now its cleaner across the board and more extended and articulate at both extremes of the frequency range. Going from stock 103r to the Zu103r then the Zu retipped, each change was a substantial upgrade in sonics and musicality.
Many thanks for your impressions! Bill
On this 24th anniversary of his loss.
Congrats on your long weekend!
Thanks for the good wishes and thanks for the reminder of SRV's death. I will have to include some SRV...I especially love his live recording with Albert King. You can tell how much they grooved on each other. Tin Pan Alley is also a fav.
