I have a TD126 MKII that plays great except for this one problem.
The tonearm lifts early when I play a 45rpm. This issue doesn't show up on a 33rpm because of where the inner groves are located.
However, the tonearm lifts in exactly the same spot.
Does anyone know how I can adjust this?
Follow Ups:
I don't know that it's adjustable. However, if you don't play that many 45s, you can simply turn off the tonearm lift.

I'm figuring that there is a sensor underneath that triggers the arm lift so it must be adjustable.
I know on other TTs I've owned that there is a spy hole through the top of the plinth and it's as simple as a screwdriver adjustment.
I just don't want to tear things apart if the adjustment is topside.
Oh, maybe under the platter?
Adjustments to the mechanical sensor must be done from underneeth. Remove the bottom cover then remove the silver colored plastic shield that covers the bottom of the tonearm. There's a single screw on the cup shaped piece that you loosen to allow adjustment. The magnet attached to the side of the cup, which rotates with the tonearm, is what triggers the sensor.
Here's a tip: After you remove the table's bottom cover, you will want to set the now bottomless turntable on top of stilts so you can access the adjustment while playing a record. It's more or less a trial and error approach until you get the auto lift set right. A bit tedious but not difficult. The hardest part will be finding something to set the table on and remain sturdy. See attached picture where I use a shelf with the middle cut out. Works great.
I finally got around to opening up the turntable and go through this procedure.
Sadly, I had move the sensor ring before noting the original location.
I adjusted the gap for .4mm, which is .015" but I do not know where to put the two \ / on the sensor ring in relation to the pickup.
The service manual speaks of a cardboard setup but gives no picture.
Do you know what should be the start position of the two \ / on the sensor ring with the tonearm in the rest?
Love the idea! I was going to use the approach of taping down the tonearm where I want it to lift and do the electrical adjustments via instructions as someone posted earlier.
Glad to help. Let us know how you make out.

When I adjusted the suspension on my TD-126, I used my dining room table. I removed the center extension piece, which left a big hole to access the under side of the TD-126. Of course, I had to crawl underneath the dining room table. ;-)
I never thought of that but can imagine it would work well. On the other hand, if I tried your way I'm not sure if my wife would get angry or laugh her a$$ off... ;-)
There is a service manual available at the Vinyl Engine that you can download for free.
