Does anyone have a source for the small rubber washer that fits between the cartridge shell and the tone arm body? Mine dried up and cracked. thanks in advance.

Try if you haven't already. These guys have just about everything. No opinion on the value of those washers. You'll have to try it each way IMO.
Outer diameter - 0.46" (11.684mm)
Inner diameter - 0.31" (7.874mm)
Thickness - 0.025" (0.635mm)You could always make one from gasket material. It will be tedious but its a solution.
NOTE: I measured the washer using a General Tools Dial Caliper. All measurements were repeated a few times to make sure I wasn't screwing up things. But I am good at that...

The system will improve significantly: more top end and greater detail. If you have to have a washer, use a small brass washer instead (#2 works ok).

Ditto. I have six of them in a little bag in a box in a closet. I took them all off my headshells to better the draining of vibrations from the cantilever.
If having something between cartridge body & headshell is a bad thing ... why does Graham supply their G2.2 (and maybe other models, too) with a 1/4" diam, thin rubber disk stuck to the underside of the headshell?

Andy
When you tighten the cartridge, the rubber is fully compressed into the same level as the metal headshell. It doe NOT form a gasket insulating the cartridge body from the headshell, unless of course you use extremely little pressure upon tightening the cartridge mounting screws.
This is from working on both the original Graham and the latest Phantom.

I hadn't realised that some people would insert something between cartridge & headshell that would cause the cartridge to sit slightly away from the underside plane of the headshell. (I agree - this is a no-no! :-)) )

Andy
Yes...I use small washers below the cartridge screw heads to protect the headshell, but I personally wouldn't put anything between the cartridge and headshell.
And that's a darn good idea if you ask me !
What great thinking! :-))

Andy
Can't help you with the washer, either.
