Sometimes I will go the longest time without spinning these guys ...but once I start, I can't stop.
Loggins & Messina can jam. What a great bunch of players.
It was a fun night.
Any other L&M fans here?
Dean.
Edited to add an all important "a".

Back in the day, When they just put out their first lp....I believe the summer of 72. They had a series of free concerts on Boston Common. My friends and I drove from Deerfield ,Ma. 96 miles away to see L and M and The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Holy cow what a show!! FOR FREE.
Mother Lode was the album that sold me on these guys and their music. Just awesome.
They're near the top of a list of bands I never liked which also includes CCR, Chicago and Grand Funk.
Never that nuts about Led Zeppelin, either, and the recent Raising Sand tragedy reminded me why.
We can't like all of them.
I have to admit, I like CCR, Chicago and Grand Funk too.
Never that nuts about Led Zeppelin though. I don't mind when I hear them on the radio, but I'd never buy one of their records.

One more thing. My fave 11 mins of music from L&M. Outstanding harmonies on "Peace of Mind". Never ever grow tired of this set.
Oh yeah! Great vocals from these guys and Messina is an excellent producer. All round great music. L&M, The Eagles, Jackson Browne, Neil Young, CSN&Y, etc. These were my "Go-To" bands when I needed a break from Zepplin, Sabbath, UFO, Thin Lizzy, ZZ, early Journey, etc. You know the heavier stuff.
Saw Kenny a couple of summers ago as my daughter grew up listening to L&M and Kenny. Still remember playing Danny's Song and Pooh Corner for her when she was a toddler. She loves most of the music I grew up with from the 70's. She's 19 now.
Kenny's pipes were still very strong and his band was really outstanding. Great sax player with him. I wasn't expecting a whole lot but I was really blown away by how much he rocked-out.
They had some really good players. I met a couple of them long ago (Jon Clarke and Merle Bregante). And Messina is way under-rated as a guitarist.
Saw L&M a couple of years ago, sounded as good as ever.
It's been a long time since I heard Live On Stage. Time to get it out.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to spin some L&M today. Long time, no hear, except on the movie Footloose that we rented a couple of weeks ago.
I'm a fan. My wife recently picked up Kenny Loggins "Live from the Redwoods" on CD and its killer...not available on vinyl though.
I only worked with Kenny once.
I opened the mic channel, no EQ, no reverb yet and WOW. What a voice. I couldn't hardly believe what I was hearing from the monitors.
I have been a L&M fan from the beginning.

Always liked "Angry Eyes" the live version.
