It's 7:55 PM here on the lower right coast. My tracking number from Acoustic Sounds indicates "On FedEx vehicle for delivery", but the damn thing has said that all day!
Patience is not a virtue I have much of, especially when waiting for records. Here's what's "supposed" to arrive today (tonight?):
Traffic / The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. Even though I have the original, the promise of better sound from this re-issue was just too difficult to resist.
Neil Young / Live at Massey Hall. It's your fault, you collective bastages. You recommended this one often enough that I just had to hear it.
Levon Helm / Dirt Farmer. I supposedly got the last copy Acoustic Sounds had. It cost me $50, and that's with a damaged cover. Inmate anumber1 recommend this one almost four years ago, and I said then that I was going to get it. Someday I gotta do something about my procrastination.
Follow Ups:
Several months ago the Fed-Ex guy showed up about 6:30 PM. He explained he'd made it his last stop because he'd heard about my record collection and wanted a quick look. We talked about record collecting and music for about half an hour!
But I had almost the same thought as Inmate51. There's part of me that would like to show off my collection, but then I'm concerned that it could become a target.
It's not quite "Hey stranger, wanna see my extensive gun collection?" but still...
"We talked about record collecting and music for about half an hour!"
Heck, even I could've cased your place in much less time than that, but I suppose he had to make it look legit.
I was shocked!

Music. Window or mirror?
But nicely surprised. I have to work the next two nights (12 hours per), and had they been delivered today I'd have had to wait until the weekend to listen to them.
that you could deal with for a surcharge that it would make it worth their time. Like between 6:00PM and 8:30PM for an extra $5 to $10. There wouldn't be any absent recipients to slow them down.

Got my Helms for $23 when it came out 4 years ago & before he died it probably did'nt go for much more.
But, its quality vinyl (at least mine is). Enjoy.
I ordered mine before Levon died...Albeit one day before.
And you are correct; it is a great sounding, musically enjoyable LP. I'm glad I finally got it. Oh, and I don't know what Acoustic Sounds meant by a damaged cover. It appears to be as flawless as the vinyl inside is.
I've had them show up past 8:30 pm and I don't live that far away from you.
Regards, Sam
I've been up there for a few antique motorcycle events. Nice town.
Nice town that has probably one of the more corrupt city governments and police forces in the state. Watch your ass when you visit Chesnee lest you receive a $500 ticket for five over the limit. Luckily I don't actually live in the city, I just have the address.
Regards, Sam
I've had deliveries from Fed Ex and UPS as late as 9:00 PM. I can't prove it, but my theory is they deliver to businesses first and residences second. I can't prove it, but I'm sticking by it.
Have a ball.
