Just be grateful it was the last step before the bottom, rather than the last step before the top!
Heal quickly, Mikey, and damn it man, be careful!

This mean I won't be riding the 73 Electra Glide anytime soon.

A 1973 Electra Glide suspension is definitely not conducive to tail-bone healing, Mícheál!
Yeah, but it will shake those kidney stones loose!
Riding my Shovel isn't what I'd call comfortable, especially since I've gone to a solo seat, a small hard pad, barely an inch thick. But it's such a visceral experience that it never fails to put a smile on my face.
I do need to fix the electric start though. My old knee ain't what it used to be for kicking it over on a cold morning.
Ever get a kick back kick starting that? I did once on my Triumph. Luckily I was young and full of beer. Riding on Long Island NY was very bad for your health. I think about riding again but those days still give me a cold chill and nightmares.
But my motor was built for longevity rather than high compression.
It actually starts quite easily once it's warmed up, usually the first or second kick. The oddest time was at a gas station a few years ago, right after I had filled up. I positioned the kicker, and put the slightest amount of pressure on the peddle. I was about to kick it through when it went down on its own, and fired right up. Apparently the stroke it was on left it in the perfect position to start by simply applying a bit of pressure to the kicker.
Regarding the cold chills, I hear you. And its gotten worse, what with every other car driver having their damn face planted in their cell phone, rather than their eyes on the road. But I've been riding for forty-two years, and I'd rather die doing something I love, rather than longing for it if I gave it up.
