Is there something black sticking out the front left corner of the vent or am I on drugs? The seller says I'm on drugs.
Follow Ups:
I blew it up and while things got blurry it also very much looks like something sticking out of the vent, although the shadow argument is really sound. If it's a weird photo artifact as some have suggested it seems odd that it's perfectly positioned in the vent opening.
It seems to be the end of a toothpick. Is the seller a martini drinker?
that or, the dude with the 'tude...lol

Friend, I would not hurt thee for the world...but thou art standing where I am about to shoot.
If there was something sticking out from the vent of the power amp when the photo was taken it would have cast a shadow.

Seems like a bit of grunge; not necessarily a red flag per se.

So I asked the seller what was crawling out of his amp. Some people have no sense of humor.
Is this amp on ebay?It almost looks like that picture was taken with an old Kodak or Cannon film camera and then scanned. The one I posted above of my old ham station and that was taken with an old Cannon AE1 as I remember.
The guy may have not have a digital camera and he had an old photo that he scanned or had someone scan and he used that.I agree with Jon in that it looks like a piece of a twig or stick, especially being near a window.

There's something there. If you zoom in on the photo, you can see it better. It looks like a twig to me.
;-)

Looks like a wire with a very short stripped end.
But I'd also ask for photos with better illumination if I was considering making an offer. Could be scratches or worn lettering that don't show up here.

If the price is right...
of course, one could be, as an old friend of ours would put it, "buying a hobby".
That's OK, if one's prepared for the consequences.
I have a house full of "hobby".
all the best,
