There are a ton of used original replacements on Ebay at any given time but here is the thing. The power transformer in the W5m is very high voltage but very low current secondary and it could have been designed very easily with a more conventional 400v power transformer but then the choke that it uses would present problems. Just get the right transformer. The 54-13 may work but see what you measure on the AC secondary. The original measures around 900vac.
Keep in mind that many power transformers were deemed bad in W5Ms that were not bad.The rectifier tube socket would develop leakage between the pins and that would would create the illusion of a shorted power transformer.I have seen this in 12 cases now.

I recently finished a power transformer job. I think there have been four Stancor 54-32 on eBay since the beginning of the year. None currently available. Maybe in the past.
I wish the $55 one was available when I needed to order.
Did you have yours rewound or did you find one? When I said tons, you will find a lot of W5Ms on ebay that have the output trafo missing and they sell the chassis and power trafo and choke all in one.If you add that to the 54-32 transformers, you can find them pretty easily.

and still, I only see a few over the last six months. In most cases, not cost effective for those of us doing a one off repair. Also risky in most of these cases, no guarantee the power transformer is working.
The only really promising one at a reasonable price sold a few days ago. Hopefully the OP snagged it.
Mine was an original, guaranteed working condition. Came from Thailand of all places.
Are you kidding me? The shipping from Thailand has to be a king's ransom in itself.

$40, took forever.
Thanks, Michael, I have seen a couple over the past couple of weeks but did not have this one with the bad tranny. I am thinking you are correct and another will show allowing me to fix my set.
