They were also in color by then..I watch the reruns on youtube all the time.
The licking thing is obviously for comedic timing.

Sucked! They pale in comparison to the black and white. Chiefly because no more Barney, Gomer, Otis or Ernest T.

I totally agree. The comedic timing of Don Knots is what made the show funny along with the other supporting cast was gone. Also, there is something about black and white film that puts the show in a more relaxed and historical atmosphere. Did you ever notice the Eico 720 AM/CW transmitter that is on the desk in the court house?

Hi, while Emmit Clarke the Fix It Man was doing Mayberry RFD., Mike I've seen every episode 20 times, he was also moonlighting playing the barber on Petticoat Junction on the last episodes with June Lockhart as the country doctor.
My old room mate years ago told me when the mother on Petticoat Junction, Bea Benadaret passed away that the show would continue. He told me the beginning songs lyrics went from (Theres Uncle Joe, he's moving kind of slow) to (Theres Uncle Joe, he's kind of running the show)...at the junction.
He wasn't exactly right but I checked and they did change the song.
My favorite girl is Lori Saunders, still looking great in her later years....Mark K.

Many of those shows became spin-offs of Petticoat Junction such as the Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres. I agree about Lori Saunders. She was and still is a hottie.

At the time of that show, where I lived, there was a lot of co-mingling of country and city folks as the suburban neighborhoods where expanding into the country. It must have been happening all over the country, which is why a lot of people found the misunderstands that resulted in the culture classes to be very funny. There certainly were enough comedy shows about it! Remember "Hee-Haw"

Mike,
The spinoffs were from the Beverly Hillbillys. Before Petticoat Junction, the mother Bea Benaderet had played Pearle Bodine, Jethros mother in the early shows. She moved into the role of the mom on Petticoat Junction after the Hillbillies and died with the show still in production.Green Acres came later too.
Mike, back to the Minimus 7. You and Airtime have always been advocates of putting a new cap in the speakers crossover. Even if I don't do any new crossover mods will a brand new (upper crust) cap replacement make a difference without doing any other major surgery? Also Mike, or anyone reading, why does that cap replacement do that, I want to know the science. Thanks. Airtime,I'm looking at caps for the A-25 if you give me a good go-ahead for that project.
For I sign off I'm going to leave you with some town names somewhere down south thaa....if you can name one I missed let me know......Bugtussle, Mount Pilot, Pixlie, Silar City, Hooterville, and my favorite Crabwells Corner....Mark K.

That is correct,I was just making a general statement that they were spinoffs and closely related.

Mark, you don't have to use an exotic cap..The Audiophilers and Daytons are very good for those positions. The science behind changing the cap from an electrolytic to a film cap is obvious. You will get better frequency response from a better and newer cap and the audio signal goes thru those caps so it stands to reason it will be much more pure because typically even the best capacitors have some degrading affect on signal..A 30 year old electrolyitc will have a real degradation on the signal.

You might have to pad down the tweeter though. The Daytons will definitely have a lower ESR.
