Some amazing posts.
Maybe every major city has commercials like this!. Hey, check out
this guy, runs in Portland, OR, so I see them often. He's the store owner too. It's not a chain store, just one. Not a high budget. There's many
more of these on the tube site.

this made me think of Ollie Fretter and Fretter Appliance.
Audio Fretter Go Go,audio prices low low. It goes to show you how prosperous Michigan was up until the early 90s..With the big three automakers paying the highest wages in the country on average,we had Highland Appliance,Fretter, and ABC Warehouse, all based out of the Detroit Area..ABC is the only one left.

Growing up in Detroit and going to school in Dearborn we'd walk to Alma's on Michigan Ave and drool over the equipment. My vintage Mcintosh system with the MX-110 preamp tuner and my use of vintage Thorens decks harkens back to those days. Couldn't remotely afford them so thank goodness for Dynakit and Heathkit and Allied Radio in Chicago for my Utah speakers (2 speakers with 12" woofers for $99).

I grew up with his commercials.
For a kid- it showed you could be a certified
Wacko and still be on tv
Funny enough, there was a conversation about Crazy Eddie's stores yesterday in response to some Facebook thread about being able to recall them (along with things like glass milk bottles, etc).
I remember seeing the ads but never lived even near the part of the country where there was a store - I think they were mostly up North, right, NY/NJ/Penn?
He really was Crazy Eddie. A cocaine fueled mad man! When my friend and I met him he was one juiced up character.
Ahhh the 70's. A mad time indeed. It was a good time to be young
