The receiver looks like a Kenwood TK88 and the speakers look like Grundig extension types..
I was too busy looking for Christina Hendricks mounds.

Ah yeah, now that's stereo. Good eye.Hey Mike, there is a guy over at the audiokarma that found a Sherwood S-5000ii. Are those much different than the one I have?
Addition: I put in the CJ and NAD275BEE into the setup yesterday. Well today I plan on putting the Sherwood RIGHT the heck back in. I'll look at those sockets next month.
I remember not to long ago you mentioned how you have a "reference" system. Very articulate and very accurate. That is what the CJ/NAD is like. But as you had mentioned, I too seem to want a more relaxed easy listening sound.
And the funny part. The NAD heated up the room MORE than the Sherwood. that thing is a room heater!!!

The S-5000-2 is a lot different than your S-5000.Your amp uses 7189 tubes as opposed to 7868s,your amp is Ultra linear as opposed to semi pentode, your amp uses a nice 7199s which are triode-pentodes to drive the output stage as opposed to a 12AX7,and last but not least, you have a five tube preamp section as opposed to four tubes.
The S-5000 2 is decent but nowhere the performance of your Sherwood with the mods I did to it because you would have to redesign the unit.
