That's really unfortunate.
I suppose that much of your Goodwill dilemma stems from your location?
I have visited (and purchased from) Goodwill stores in this part of the country (Rocky Mountains) without ever encountering what you describe. Only thing is - their audio offerings are primarily low end, less than entry level stuff.
But at least they don't physically stink!

Same here. Our GW appears "clean" as much as a GW can be clean.
But the audio stuff is usually the stuff they couldn't unload on ebay. Not even good parts and experimental stuff.
I had been watching CL here for Tannoy, rarely see any. Went with wife last week to GW on Union Hills, figured I would look for albums. They had only a few albums, killing time I looked at their electronics. First speakers I saw were Tannoy floor standing, what a surprise. They were priced at $25, looked them up, sell used for $300, didn't buy them but not at all what I was expecting.
Hi, this sounds like you could make a Seinfeld episode......Mark Korda
That was the first thing I thought of when I read this post, the Seinfeld episode where his car smelled like the parking valet.
Not that there's any wrong with that!
