I am looking to purchase an SP10 Mk2, and the one under consideration has significantly different serial numbers on the audio vs the PS chassis'. In one case, it's a 7 or 8-digit number beginning with a "2", and in the other it's a number of the same length, beginning with a "1". Is this an indication that the two chassis' were not born together as one unit? Thanks.

The numbers on my SP-10 also don't match. I am the original owner.

I've been collecting data from other sources, too, and it does seem that the two SNs did not match in any case. Mystery solved.
Lew, I suspect ARC would give you the best answer, particularly if you could supply them with both complete numbers.

Thought for sure someone here would know. The specific numbers, I don't think, are not critical in that these two SNs are so different, since one starts with a "1" and the other with a "2", but I can access them. Each is seven digits long after the 1 or the 2, respectively.
Someone is going to jump on this unit before I do, I have a feeling.
I looked at the ARC database entry and copied a pic of the rear view of both the signal and PS units.
If you zoom to 200%, it appears the leading digit of these is different as well. That may not indicate mixed lineage.
