These are not really vintage finds, unless your criterion for vintage is anything that is old enough to appear at a garage sale. But they are such spectacular deals that I wanted to report in the only forum that really cares about garage sales. After a two year drought, this is what turned up in the last two weeks:
Onkyo TX-SR601, $35
Yamaha RX-V2300, $50
Paradigm Reference Studio 60v2, $60For a total of $145 this is gear less than a decade old that originally had list prices totaling about $2500. To complete the system I add a Sony ES CD player that I got for $10 two years ago. Hi Fi for a little over a C-note!

Vintage gear seems to have all but disappeared in my neck of the woods - occasionally I find some nice black plastic gear that I can flip and make a few bucks. A couple of weeks ago I found an Integra receiver for $25 and turned it into $150. Fortunately my vintage gear is pretty well set and I don't need anything really, but the thrill of rummaging thru other people's stuff is still with me. I've had 3 amazing McIntosh finds in the last 5-6 years, and that alone keeps me searching.
Good Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it was not for garage/estate/church/Thrift store(throw in the occasional ebay purchase)sales I agree with you. I also would be up a creek without the proverbial paddle. I cannot afford the price for new equipment so I am thankful for those weekend, all day jaunts looking thru endless amounts of other people's junk to find those elusive treasures that have been hidden from the masses today who do/cannot appreciate or understand where the music they listen to now originated. Phew, that was a mouthful!
