Anyone seen these before? All drivers are 16 ohm and the xover is an A-645. Decent?
Follow Ups:
I find it interesting that they are mirror imaged. 1965 is pretty early for that insight.

All of these components were available as a kit, the KT-33, for $80 in 1961 (Allied). They were also used in a Jensen product, the CN-100, as mentioned in an earlier post. The CN-100 had an internal volume of about 5.7cf. The enclosures you are looking at look like they are around 2.5 cf, so the LF performance will be a little off (not as extended). Not SOTA, but really good vintage, if that is what you are looking for. These will probably run about 93 db/w/m and have excellent bass into the mid 30's in the right box.
The Flexair woofers were the Jensens approach to a compact speaker with extended bass. They incorporated high compliance surrounds (treated cloth accordian) and a relatively generous Xmax. They predated T/S analysis by a decade, but have T/S parameters well suited to use in relatively small BR enclosures.
The P8-UM midrange (used from 600-4000 Hz) is not the last word in resolution by todays standards, but does provide a warm, natural voice reproduction.
The RP-103A horn tweeters have phenolic diaphrams and provide a fast, detailed sound with minimal horn coloration. However, they only extend to around 13KHz, so there will be a lack of 'air'. This can be easily resolved by adding a 'supertweeter'.
If these were placed in a 4-5 cf BR, with good wire and rebuilt (or new) crossovers (at the same points as the original, with film/oil caps and air-core coils) and with a small horn supertweeter, they would be pretty awesome. The stock crossover may have oil caps (a good thing).
Good luck,
Bob

Yes, that is what I am after. I got tired of the high end/SOTA chase and just want to listen to music. I never thought it would happen...but an iPod in a Pure i-20 dock and Rhapsody isn't too bad. :-)
Jensen Flexair woofers and Sonodome ultra tweeters. These are the cone tweeters, tho, right?
I would date these speakers to around 1960, or maybe a bit earlier.
I think the Sonodomes belong to the later 60s
The Sonodome was around by the very late 50's as my room mate's Dad had a pair mated to Altec 755's before I graduated in 1960.

By 1963 the RP 103 horn tweeter and 8-inch midrange were being phased out and replaced by the Sonodome Ultratweeter (and small diameter cone mids)in the higher priced models (Model 3P/3: $160). The Sonodome was Jensen's first dome tweeter. To replace the horn and cone tweeters it was made pretty efficient, though a few db less than the horn. The horn was still (1963) used in the TR-10 ($120), where the driver line-up was referred to as the 'famous Jensen Tri-ette system'. As before, the less expensive models used the P35-VAH cone tweeter, often in pairs. That tweeter is actually more extended than the horn (just enough to lend a touch of 'air' to the sound), and is remarkably smooth (once broken in) and dynamic. However, the horn sounds faster and more detailed.

Hi David,
They are horn tweeters. Tha cabinets are stamped 1965 but I think the drivers are older.
Thanks guys. I think these were assembled from a kit and were used with an organ. The seller is local and I am going to hook up my Almarro 205A at his place. I wonder what is inside the xover?
Coner,
I have a Jensen catalog in PDF that has enclosure plans. e-mail me and I will send it to you.
Kal,
I have a near mint pair of TF-3's. I re-capped them with Western Electric PIO's and replaced the Sonodomes with Pioneer horn tweeters and they sound quite good. Not world class but extremely enjoyable. :-)

Stereo Director. I have a set of them. They are excellent. They also came in a one piece console (SS-200?). Really cool old speakers. BC
I have those components, don't know what cab. out of.
A classic Jensen 3way.
