...and an exorbitant price tag, it's sold AS IS??? No guarantee of any kind? No thanks.
Great sounding and looking units. But much like Marantz's other SS gear of that era, eg the PM series, they are in BAD need of full and complete restoration. So if you are thinkign of it also consider about an extra $1000 for restoration costs. Or expect a blown trannie in the deal.
Personally for that much money you can get a number of other Marantz stereos, if properly matched speakers, to sound just as good.
$12k - scam.

I will say one thing...that eBay auction. Has gotten a LOT of attention. Multiple threads running on it over at AudioKarma.
Even the seller knows it won't sell for that. But he is taking offers, so he is fishing. Might catch a big one - you never know.

Well, I paid 35 for my Fisher SA-100 and I like it better so....maybe ten?
Amen. For $12000 I can put together two good systems. I have heard several Marantz SS receivers. I don't know what the fuss is about. Geez I could buy the cores and restore about 3 or 4 pairs of Citation I/II's for $12000..... which would stomp the daylights out of that thing. (You could even buy a Marantz tube amp and preamp and have mucho change leftover).
I wonder what he will sell it for?
But, it lack the kinda controls and buttons that I'm looking for in a unit.
All I have to say is... get the contact cleaner ready.
