Well the cannabis is no problem, It's legal here and I grow my own. On the other hand, I haven't been able to find genuine 714's for many years so I've been forced to "choose one over the other".
Cheers,

LOL I think he meant whiskey. The last 714 I ever saw was way back in 1981.
And besides, cannabis and 'ludes would be a recipe for sleep not an audio tweek! :)
The audio tweak was that my drug-induced state allowed me to enjoy some poorly recorded music and a few mediocre systems that I might not have bothered to listen to had I not been high!
The combination of 'ludes and pot was my go-to listening recipe back in the day. The trick (if you can call it that) was to choose the correct strain of weed (sativa vs. indica to begin with) and not to over indulge on the 714's. One 'lude per evening was always enough, as opposed to the maniacs who believed that if one was good two or more would be Grreat ;-)
It's an acquired taste, one that requires lots and lots of practice and it's certainly not for everyone. But I never considered myself a really 'critical' listener, especially back then. Good sounds and fine p*ssy was more like what I was into in those days.
Excellent strains of pot are easily available now (it's legal here plus I grow my own) but alas, my 'lude stash dried up many decades ago and I don't drink alcohol :-(
Cheers,
SB
