Using Jitterbug as DC power filter btw wall wart and equipment

Just tried something interesting.
I have been using a Dragonfly V1 + Jitterbug, which is driven by a Surface pro 2, with the DF's audio output going into a headphone amp for headphone (Fostex TH-500RP) listening. The headphone amp had been powered by the Surface Pro's wall wart's USB power supply output.
An idea came and I instead put the Jitterbug between the USB power supply and the headphone amp (I only have one Jitterbug), so it is just acting as a power filter. Seems to work rather well, with the sound being clean and musical, and is actually better than using it at the Dragonfly's end.
YMMV, but I think it's something worth trying if you are using USB power supplies for audio!

What a great idea! I don't have any usb power devices right now, but I have experimented with the ifi dc ipurifier - a filter for power supplies with barrel connectors. It improves the picture and sound of my cable box, and makes a very significant improvement to my Virtue Audio t-amp. To me it seems like cleaner power always brings rewards in audio. It's good to know about the j-bug used in this way.

  Yes, the iPurifier is what inspired me to try the JB that way. I already have a whole bunch of iFi stuff (iPower, iUSB, iLink, iPurifier, Gemini) in my big system already. Thinking about using an iPurifier on the network switch, but it's a little pricey for applying at such a "controversial" location.
