Ok Winston, Thanks for the review. You might consider damping the plugs with Mortite rope caulk. IMO one gets a bit more instrument body so they will sound somewhat fuller. The well respected Herbie likes rope caulk so it's not just me. I might try one FI-ll to round things out a bit. Yeah, they ain't $30 anymore. T456

Still not cheap, but not US$50+, either.
If you grab one, check it out and let us know what you hear.
You can try filling the barrel with XXS clear quartz crystal chips (ala Alan Maher's former "Circuit Breaker Filters") for another big change in sonics. I drilled a hole in the plastic barrel of the Furutech plugs and poured in the crystals and then sealed with tape. Some swear by this mod, others swear at it. Definitely worth a try. Adherents claim reduced noise, better low-level details and air, with better midrange presence without glare (but YMMV, and all of that.) Crystals are available on eBay, cheap.
Akiko Audio sells various 'sticks' and other items with quartz crystals inside for big bucks, so save some cash and buy your own micro-sized clear quartz chips and DIY. Give the crystals about 72 hours to fully stabilize for best effect.
Sonic Craft is closing out the cu Furutech plug at $35. Prodded by you I ordered a used one I saw on Ebay before I checked out SC and should get it any day now. I will report back. Considering the respect given to this plug 35 ain't too bad. T456
