Hi. Would butcher cart as in the URL below work as an amp stand? Thanks

Looks like it would make a nice small system equipment rack, but it needs a couple modifications. The maple top looks ideal for a source component with a pre-amp below....amp or int. amp on the bottom shelf. I would place maple cutting boards on the two metal shelves with a thin layer of damping material( mouse pads or similar ) between the metal shelf and cutting board. Next....get rid of the casters and replace with spikes or footers of some ilk.
Thanks Mick. I decided to wait for a conventional rack mostly bc of the way this one looks.
Perfectly understandable. I had a friend fab up a fabulous maple/steel rack recently and it was worth the wait. If it makes you feel any better though, I've had a few set-ups in the past that were far uglier than the "butcher cart". In a $ pinch, it wouldn't a bad place to start.
a
as my turntable stand. It is isolated from all the preamp/amp electronics on their own table. Also as it's 4" thick Maple it's rock solid.
Thanks Uncle Mike. I decided to pass on it as need at least 3 shelves. Will probably go with more conventional stand.
