I知 in the process of building a power cord for my SACD play using the wiring guideline specified in the link below. Instead of using the IEC connector identified in the link, I知 using a Wattgate IEC connector with the center pin removed.
Are there any potential problems in implementing this type of power cord? Can it harm my SACD player?

I assume you mean the modded C7 adapter for that project does not apply to your particular DIY power cord project, and that you are simply concerned about a DIY power cord project that involves a regular IEC connector with its ground contact removed for use with a non-grounded unit that has an IEC inlet without a ground pin (C18 IEC inlet). If that's the case, you do *not* need to remove the IEC connector ground contact, since if your SACD player has an otherwise regular looking IEC inlet *however* without a ground pin (C18 IEC inlet) the power cord interface will simply "ignore" that aspect. As such, any regular IEC power cord will function just fine and safe with a unit that does not feature an IEC inlet with a ground pin.
I知 going to use either the Wattgate or Shurter IEC and remove the center pin. At the outlet end I知 using the Marinco. I値l wire the power cord per the instructions in the link. The image you posted is exactly what the current SACD power cord looks like. Thanks for the advice.
An IEC connector does not have a center pin -- it's a female connector with internal ground contacts. An IEC inlet has a center pin -- it's a male connector with external pins/prongs/blades.
Do NOT remove the female ground contact in any 3-pole IEC connector. Why? It won't do anything at all of any electrical nor sonic benefit whatsoever, and it can potentially make a 3-conductor power cord a dangerous thing to folks in the future who simply won't know the power cord is not grounded!
Please, terminate the ground wire of the 3-conductor power cord to the IEC connector and consider it a much wiser and kinder thing to do!
Safety first. AC kills.

I was glad I did when i was going to sell my old amp and only because the note was ON the back of the amp realized I had lifted the ground!
(connected it back before sale.)
There are young DIY'ers and old DIY'ers but screw-up with electricity and you may be a deceased DIY'er. Safety first and don't inhale those solder fumes.

No disagreement with your core message but I think you are trying to adapt a famous mountain climbing saying:
There are Old DIYers and there are Bold DIYers but there are no Old, Bold DIYers ...

"There are Old DIYers and there are Bold DIYers but there are no Old, Bold DIYers"
That reads better.
Any opinions on free climber Alex Honnold? Between him and free falling "birdmen" Holmes and Boulle I can't think of any more extreme sportsmen.
There are lots of "free climbers" like me. "Aid climbers" pull on devices they install during the course of the climb. Free climbers rely on equipment to protect their lives but do not pull on it to climb up. "Solo climbers" use either of the above styles but climb without a partner.
Alex's fame comes from being a "free solo climber" on extremely hard, long routes. I understand the freedom, exhilaration and sense of power that come from free soloing based upon first hand experience. Unfortunately, even rock can break on occasion, all humans are susceptible to occasional mental and physical "bobbles", and weather can change. All it takes is one unexpected event at a critical time and a free soloist's life is ended. I hope that Alex gets it out of his system without any terrible surprises.
I DIY tube electronics so I am very thoughtful and mentally present when I approach an exposed amplifier. I don't even want to experience that first surprise!
