I want to upgrade the coupling capacitors at the input of the power stage
of my amplifier {ASL AQ1008DT). I found a site comparing lots of capacitor brands but they were capacitors for speaker cross over filters.
Are not the same capacitors suitable for amplifiers as well, provided that the value and the voltage rating are correct?

You can use those speaker capacitors which are polypropylene caps to swap in your oem caps which I supposed they are electrolytic type.
Another cheaper tweak than changing coupling caps with those expensive caps is changing coupling resistors. It is a lot cheaper than capacitors and also give good result.
I strongly recommend you look into the new V-CAP CuTF (copper foil/teflon foil) caps. I am in the process of breaking in a new set of CuTF coupling caps in my BAT 150SE monoblocks and after only 30 hours, they sound phenomenal, easily bettering the very good fully broken in V-CAP TFTF caps which they replaced. They are worth the added expense over the TFTF caps.
Compared to the TFTF caps, the highs are much smoother, the midrange is fuller and more lush, typical of a copper PIO. The overall sound is much cleaner and the soundstage is wider. All the best qualities of copper and teflon in one cap.
They've found a way to make us throw away their last very expensive product to buy their latest even more expensive product. Great marketing is the key. May actually sound better, or not.
.....actually to me the new CuTF caps do sound better, at least for my tastes and in the equipment they are in. For some people, these new caps may not sound better but DIFFERENT. Different strokes.....
One could accuse ARC of frequently introducing new products which obsolete their previous products, especially when there is no upgrade path.
The new V-CAP CuTF (copper foil/teflon foil) caps where auditioned and discussed at a recent NYRAVE held last weekend. You can find mention of this on AudioNervosa.com. The host of the RAVE is a friend and I talked to him at length about the positive attributes of this cap. He as V-caps currently and has placed an order for these caps. Feel free to visit the website and ask folks there about their opinions.
Hi Rgurney,
Just commented to Chris on his CuTF caps. They are the best caps I have ever heard and have an 'earthiness' and organic quality to them that the TFTF don't.
I'm using them as bypass caps and even without the customary break-in they have given me the musicality I have been searching for all these years.
Once word gets out, we'll see them in ALL high-end gear soon.
Enjoy your caps. (good tag-line?)

.......commented in this forum, that PIO caps act like a tone control and impart a color to the sound, albeit usually beneficial. I think these new CuTF (copper foil/teflon foil) caps give the benefits of a PIO without the drawbacks. The sweetness and soul (copper foil) with invisibility (teflon foil). The bar has been raised way up......
I did a series of test of moderately priced input coupling caps used in a Tripath power amp. The thread is rather long, but there is a lot of good info embedded therein.

a poster at Audiocircles did a comparison of many caps in a similar position over the past year. I believe it was in the lab circle? Do a search there.
Thank you for your answer
did a search and here is the link
