My cord for the dail station indicator has went South and I can not find a source for these cords?
Does anyone know where to find these? Or a good substitute.
Thanks

Thanks for the info, the cord for the fly rod is a great idea,a spool of that will fix many a radio but the best thing is to buy the rest of the gear and "GONE FISHING"
Your Welcome, I was winding backing onto a reel one day and I knew I had seen that type of cord before and finally remembered it was back in my Audio Store repair days. Fly fishing is just another expensive vice for me. An outdoor pastime to complement music and audio. Actually it got me into (Fly) rod building as well so I needed a nice little system in my shop. Sigh, it just never ends (thank God : <}).
Gerald is right, the fishing cord mentioned is ideal for the application and I have used it many times over the years to make repairs to various tuners and receivers. It is physically very sturdy and has the right traction on a tuning shaft plus it is made of extremely long lasting materials. You may even find some strain-relief pieces made to crimp the ends at the fishing supply site you choose. They are typically used to attach the connectors for the lure end of the line. When done right you will not need to rely upon knots in the ends to secure them.

20 pound test Fly Reel woven Dacron fly line backing line is virtually identical to the original cord used on Fisher, Scott and McIntosh Analog tuners/receivers. I've used it on 3 or 4 different Components to good effect. It is low stretch and the friction co-efficient is just about perfect for this application. Available at most sporting goods stores or mail order from the Major outdoor retailers like Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops.
I 2nd your recomendation.
