Hi. I am trying to find replacement bulbs(lamps) for my Kenwood KT7500 tuner. The originals(not available anymore) are 8v,300ma. I would like the stock look if possible but can not find any 8v lamps that are similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

12v & 14v bulbs also work fine, these voltages are readily available at either a local Radio Shack or Auto Parts store.
They will be a tad dimmer but otherwise will work if you get the right size and rating.
I used them in my Kenwood Eleven and it's hard to tell the difference. Now that I know it works I'm going to replace all the bulbs with the appropriate 9V bulbs.
I used to work at a job producing X-ray film. We had to use a small green LED flashlight so as not to expose the film during production.
I found that rubbing the base of the lamp contact on my jeans prior to insertion in the flashlight would allow it to produce a slightly brighter light.
Try this when using a higher voltage lamp in a low voltage application to allow it to emit maximum light.
I looked at the sole unmounted lamp and it's not a 9V. Try a 10V or 12V lamp. DigiKey has a lot of 12V lamps available. This place has some 8V lamps:
