I own a pair of NOS 7586 nuvistors. I would like to include them in a "from scratch" phono stage I am building. Are there any suggestions for the best use? I.E. should they be used for a first gain stage for the MC input or maybe an output stage buffer?Any schematic suggestions would be appreciated. (Bias current, plate voltage, cathode resistor etc.)
I also do not have a socket for this tube. Does anyone out there know where they can be found?

The only schematic I've found is the one at Ultanalog linked below. It's in diy projects, and called the Odeion IIIHTH
Red Pill,Thanks for the information. I will book mark it and give it a good read.
Thanks again,
Hi,
I also have a pair and am looking for a good circuit to use threm with.
Here is a source for sockets.http://www.tubesandmore.com/

Thanks, I have tried several tube supply houses and no one had heard of a nuistor socket.I will use them.
Hi,
The sockets can be salvaged form Tek scopes and the plug-in modules. I can probably get you a few from stock if you have something interesting to trade.

Douglas
Thanks for the information. I used to have an old Tek in my parts bin. I will check it, if not, I expect I will use the Tubes & More site.Again thanks,
