Your wish used to be easy to grant. The original MO Valve KT88 did the trick (at least that is the legend). The KT88 production line in England was supposed to be restarted this year with a very high price tag.NOS MO Valve KT88s can be had, at a high price naturally. 2 other NOS possibilites are: TungSol 6550 (pretty pricey) and GE 6550A. The GEs are available at "reasonable" prices. How good the GE tubes "sound" I can't say.

I had GE6550's in my amps (Lumley Reference M120's), and I didn't like them. They have a very nice mid-range, but the bottom-end was a little bloated and loose, and the high end seemed a bit rolled off. They are nice for music that doesn't require low-end slam and gobs of upper-end detail. They soundstage VERY nicely. I now use the Svetlana 6550C's, which are considerably better in the bass (tighter, more slam) and more extended in the highs- the only weakness is the slightly sterile midrange (not as "tubey" as the GE's). My listening tastes are more towards Classic Rock, Funk, and Jazz. Hope that helped :-)
