this man seem to have a lot of gold pins tubes for sell .
Follow Ups:
They are genuine Mullards. They have the goalpost getter that only Mullard produced tubes in the 50s had. They're the f91 type that was mostly produced in 1958.
Mullard didn't produce any 10m versions or other gold pin ECC83 tubes in the 50s, so that was added more recently to justify asking the exorbitant price. People do fall for that, as is proven by Old Guy Radiola, another eBay fraud selling new gold old stock (with a 100% positive rating nonetheless).

If I recall correctly.
There are certain Ebay vendors that get crazy indignant if you question their authority. I have read brow beatings and berating people about these vendors tube smarts ... claiming large storage depots world wide and selling more tubes in an hour than .... Yikes....What....
If I am not mistaken of course.
Cross-hatched seams at top.

I looked at my Mullard 10Ms and my long plate 1958 mullards and they have a slight crease but only going one way and not in a crosshatch.Could those be Siemens?

I just looked at two pair of Mullard 12ax7 B8L,B9C that do have a crosshatch but a quad of Mullard 12at7 R8C do not have a crosshatch.
The only tubes I have with gold pins are EI 12ax7 and 12at7.

I don't remember ever seeing cross-hatched seam Philips/Mullard tubes. I have seen many Japanese ones. I can't remember if BEL (India) had cross-hatched top seams.
The Mullards had a line going one way across the top but it's kind of faint compared to the Japanese ones.

Too much money in any case!
$900- for a pair of questionable Mullards ?? What's going on with prices
like that??
I guess it is inevitable with something that is finite and gets used up that they become scarce and thus more costly. There are kids active now, in the headphone arena, paying obscene prices for some of the better and truly best tubes around.
One of the more accessible tubes that I like is the somewhat pedestrian 6SN7. I thought I had a nice collection, but these kids were discussing B-65s(GEC/ Marconi Osram best 6SN7s ever made and very very rare) as if they were readily available, and no problem finding them, never mind affording them. I still don't have a single example.
While I think it's really great that a new generation of audio lovers is finally coalescing , it is a bit difficult to enjoy the instant snoberism that I find so commonly, easily and disturbing.
I have other beef's with some of them but I will allow restraint of pen and tongue to prevail.
I will admit,I love the 12AX7 Mullard 10Ms and the Amperex DD getters along with all Telefunken 12AX7s. I'm finding more and more tho that the new production JJs and Sovteks 12AX7LPS,and other New Sensor products are right on the back bumper of matching the sonics of the aforementioned tubes.I still prefer the Teles and the Amperex DDs,and the Mullard 10Ms but not by much anymore.
