Charles,
Be VERY careful using that stuff. It ends up everywhere and since it is conductive it can cause a lot of trouble. Geezerrocket's advice about "less is more" is spot on. In fact I don't recommend it - but many do.
If it was me I'd replace the socket, Heck it's 50 years old. Put a new Belton in there and you're set for another 50 years!

You can use it but you have be very respectful of its power and strength.
IMHO,it is one upgrade that is not snake oil by any means. On speaker cables and RCA jacks and connectors,it made a sonic difference that was undeniable and you lightly apply it.If you get too much on,you have to clean it off..They give you an applicator brush but a tiny paint brush would work just fine.

Heed what Jim says about that stuff. I wiped out one of a matched quad of GE grey plate 6bq5s doing something similar, thinking it HAD to help. I gave up finding a new one to fit some time ago.

OK. Over the winter I'll do that. Should I do all five? Like I really wanted to do that. Or just the three linestage sockets?
Thanks for the advice. I'm sure that stuff would be all over my fingers, the walls, between my speaker terminals.

You can do just one if that is the only one that's acting up!
