I know it's early but anyone have any info on the new production kt88 offered by Brimar? Who and where they are manufactured? Sound characteristic? Etc...Thanks.

Interesting how they compare the new stock to the NOS GEC/MON stock.
..
Looks like it's NOT coming to the US as of yet, based on the calculate shipping app. Bummer! Hope someone can get their hands on a few and post a review. Or even better get some distribution interest here in the US.

From the image on their website, it looks like Chinese manufacture. But, these Brimar folks are making an interesting proposition...
VERY interesting. I hope they can move forward with this.
But I chuckled at their claim of being the "spiritual home" of audio tubes (assuming "audio" tubes is what they'll make and what they refer to)? Yeah, I guess it was a Brit that came up with the thermionic valve (Fleming), but it was an American (DeForest) that came up with the design that made it a desirable device for audio via the triode, and an American company (RCA) that first produced tubes commercially.
Ah well...at least the US is the spiritual home of the internet since Al Gore is an American. :)
I though Abe Lincoln created the internet?
No, but he did fight vampires.
without a doubt he created the Lincoln Log! ( LOL )
No, I think he invented electricity. Or maybe it was fire. Can't remember for sure...
was/is a lovely sounding tube, fairly close to the U52. I wonder how close they will get?
There has been many times that companies have appeared which propose to revive classic audio tubes and so far only a few have shown any product. It would be awesome of some affordable audio valves actually did come of this, but i am not holding my breath waiting. cheers.
This caught my eye and curiosity as well..

I sent them an e-mail:"No shipping to the USA? Any plans to? There are grown men crying here...it's on you. ;-)"

I am pretty sure that Brimar did not make a kt88 back in its tube manufacturing history. So, this tube is just a current tube with added on Brimar markings in a Brimar imitation box. I don't see the point of a product such as this being any different than the currently made tubes. Is it really different than the other kt88s out there?
All their new tubes look Chinese to me. Has anyone tried any of their offerings?
There is no way of getting around the fact that even 'selected' Chinese tubes cost a fraction of what it would cost to produce them in the West. It is sad but this dream has been kicking around for a couple of years.
