I have a Decware Zen Triode Select from 2003 (3 1/2 - 4 watts total), and I'm looking for a synergistic match in terms of a tube preamp. Currently I'm using a Pioneer SX-838 as a preamp, but in that capacity it's being grossly underutilized. The Decware could, ostensibly, be used without one, but I'd like a tad bit more volume and a balance control is necessary, at least until I get my ears cleaned again. Any suggestions?

Hi,
You might want to try your question over in the Decware audio forum.
In the Decware Forum, opinion seems to be mixed as to whether or not Decware based SE integrated amps sound better with or without a Decware tube preamp.
YMMV.
