I would have expected a more stark result. When comparing Chinease 211 (same crap construction as non valve art 845) to GE VT4C (beautiful construction) the sound difference is night and day. How can I scale the difference for you? I suppose it's like comparing a power supply consisting of choke input, wkz black gates that have been running continuous for 100 years, potato masher rectifier, with 1n4007's CLC stock 'lytics. It really is a massive difference, there are so many differences so large that I'm struggling to find comparators for you.

Let's see ... 100 year old black Gates vs. 1N4007s ... anyone got a quarter?
"there are so many differences so large that I'm struggling to find comparators for you."There are so few differences of this magnitude that we come across in self build audio that I am struggling to name another as a comparator.
