I'm in Sanford, NC, and Matthew managed to push far enough north to give us a good swat. We have had 5.5 inches of rain so far here today, and it is still coming down quite hard. The pics are of the ponds in front of the house. Happily they are quit a ways below the house as they are at least 2 feet over their banks right now and water is flowing across our access road. As a CE, I can't give whoever sized the pipes very good marks! I just hope it doesn't wash the road out. It has done this one other time in the 6 years we have been here, but not for this long. We are a lot better off than a lot of people here though. Flood warnings all over the place including the coast and river drainage's. We don't have to worry about flooding, but I am keeping a nervous eye on the trees around the house. I took down quite a few in the last few years, but with this much rain the ground is getting soaked and the wind is still hitting gusts above 35mph. Have not lost power yet, but the lights give a good flicker from time to time. It is supposed to be out of here by tomorrow morning, so hoping for it to ease off later tonight.

We had 100mph gusts
I live on intracoastal and had 80mph gusts.
They called for 7-11' surge but we only got about 4'
Have lost power several times now, once for about 1.5 hours and it still is flickering from time to time. Almost 7" of rain so far and still coming down. Matthew has finally started to move a little toward the east though, so that should help us a bit. Not good news for those east of us though!
That is a lot of rain. be careful and try to out of that crazy weather.
