Whoa! Nice to hear from you, again. I know there are a few winders that will build trannies as close to OEM specs as possible. Or rewind old OEM units. I think it's the metal that can be an issue. Alloys and such.

Thanks! It's good to be back and moreover, good to be preparing for another project.
You'd be interested to know that a few months ago, I was given an early 60s Gibson GA-15RVT, which an acquaintance was discarding because it did nothing but hum very loudly. Otherwise, the amp is in GREAT shape - logo still in tact, even. I figure it's a capacitor issue. It's not a Fender, but those old Gibsons can sound pretty good with a little tweaking - and the price was right!

No problem! Ever need tubes...
Gibson made some nice amps. Some famous studio recordings, of 1950-60s, were done on Gibbys.
One day, like to restore a stereo Gibson amps, GA-79RVT.
