with your remarks about both the AN silver and copper foil caps. I have the silvers in a headphone amp and they also took ages to break in. I have the copper foil caps in 2 other amps, 1 preamp and an AN CD player. You should also try the new AN electrolytic caps and their new silver resistors.

Isn't that an electronic oxymoron? Or these must be some huge lumps of silver wire.
My experience with Audio Note capacitors is that they leak-ed. (Past tense, because that experience was enough to put me off them.)
Dear Lew,
It is a bit of an oxymoron I agree, the resistive material is Tantalum, it is the end caps and lead out wires that are made from solid silver.
Sincerely,
Peter
I should add that the leaky capacitor incident occurred more than 10 years ago, and probably your current oil-based capacitors are much more reliable, based on other reports.
As noted below, I am a longtime user of AN tantalum resistors.
The leakers were old caps made by Jensen, long gone.
Maybe I better go back and read the hype about the new resistors AN is making. They do make a difference.
Woops! Read the blurb. Sorry. My wife says i have an active imagination.
They are indeed one of my two favorite types of resistor in the signal path, the other being the nude Vishays. Nurture your active imagination, by all means. It's all we've got, sometimes.
