Thoughts? What does it do well? What not so well?

Yes , just last weekend. It made a huge sound with impressive bass and was quite smooth and balanced; however, it lacked some focused and had a somewhat electronic "processesed" sound. Unfatiguing but also not satisfying. I think for what it is it is one of the better designs I have heard but tonality is never right with the kind of amps used in these designs. A much more natural sound was heard with Vandersteen Treo driven by an all Brinkmann system...that was good.
They sure look interesting for powered speakers. I have never heard powered speakers but I know a few guys in the UK with them. They either love them or hate them. It's a taste thing.
Do you currently use a powered speaker system now? If not you really should audition -any- powered system at show room to see if you even like that kind of setup first.
the Kii pitch is much more than simply being an active speaker.
Switching amp proponent Putzeys makes grandiose claims for "Active Wave Focusing" .
Ever listen to the active B&O speakers that achieve a similar goal with a lot more complexity and cost?
I thought not.
my point to Airtime was that the Kii is *purported* to be more than merely another active speaker of which I have heard and owned a number.
I understand, but at the same time you seemingly dismissed his achievement by referring to it as "grandiose claims".
That's is why I asked/answered. Anyway, I understand where you're coming from.

The following is what I would consider such from a 33 lb speaker including a six channel amplifier that measures 16"x8":
"Better than big speakers at sounding big and better adapted for small rooms than other small speakers, THREE is a truly no-compromise product."
No compromise, huh?
YMMV
Well, I grew out of my huge electrostatic planar stage some twenty years ago. Shortly thereafter I opened my ears and mind.
I wouldn't discount the work of Bruno & Co. so quickly. He is one of a few true innovators in an industry chock full of charlatans. IMO. YMMV. Etc.

Well, he's clearly impressed with himself .
I wish him and his fish the very best. :)
