I know this has probably been done before and some pictures are viewable, but I would enjoy seeing what you have put together. I will start with my system. I realize most of you have put more time and $$ into yours, but I am happy with my limited system..
Follow Ups:
Oppo '105D disc player analog cabled to 6-channel, tubed, conrad-johnson MET1 preamp, Atma-Sphere M60Mk.3.3 main poweramps (top 8 octaves), Serenity Super-7 all-open-baffle speakers built by Dannie Richie of GR Research and which use B-G mag-planar MR and tweeters and double-12", servo-controlled woofers driven by Rythmik-brand 'Direct Servo' poweramps. Subwoofing (using LP filter of only 25HZ) is by pair of Rythmik F15HP SWs on the floor at the back wall.
This is a multichannel system that gets to five with the MET1 preamp, a c-j MET150 poweramp, a Vandersteen VCC-1 centerchannel speaker, and large, built-in surrounds on the rear wall/ceiling.
I don't use a separate '.1' channel for bass; the woofers and SWs are driven in parallel with the main left- and right-channel signals.

Here you go.

Really excellent pics! All.
Amazing systems.
Here is my modest joy. I am pretty happy as is.

you have the nicest CD rack that I have ever seen!
Fantja,
Thanks! That custom built in CD cabinet, along with the dedicated room that contains it, was in the planning stage for well over a year. There were multiple revisions over that time period. In retrospect and regrettably, there are still minor modifications I should have made to that room.

The Magnestand mods are expensive. Are the mods truly worth the money?
Yes, in every way. The overall clarity is noticeably better, but the primary improvement is in dynamics, an area in which I thought the stock speakers were lacking- they seemed to operate within a restricted dynamic "window". The Gunn'ed versions are MUCH better in that area (though no, they aren't going to rival a big, high-quality dynamic system). They are also a little more midrange-forward than stock; not sure if this is more "accurate", but it sounds nice. And they DO look good, FWIW.

Have you had a chance to listen to 1.7i? Any thoughts about this newer model?
Audio Advice in Raleigh (fairly close) likely has a set but I've not been there in a while. Their listening rooms are greatly different than mine so it might not have a lot of utility. The whole QR supertweeter thing I find kind of intriguing, but not sure how well it's implemented (in theory, not having heard it). I, and probably many others, wish like hell they'd do a 1.x-sized model with a true ribbon, but there must be some marketing reason that they haven't (here's where we need Josh to chime in).

Alternating systems depending on desired sound.
Downsized tubed setup, very pleasant. Normally the Vandy's are out from the wall and the chair on the right is elsewhere.
This is my mess,I have let it sit for a little while now, need to get back into it.

Very nice system gkirkus.Besides the Linn LP12, what are the other components & speakers?

Nice pics! All.
Belafonte inspiration
It is a shame Belafonte turned communist. Otherwise, beautiful pics!
They speakers can be played down to under 50db and still sound alive.
Not muffled and no meed to exceed the high 70 dbs.
And what a soundstage.
The top drivers are EAD E100HD. They replaced a pair of Jordan drivers my granddaughter damaged.
The bass driers are Jordan 7" units.
Their crossed over around 150hz, series crossover about a 6db slope.
Both driver's are in transmission line cabinets.
These speakers were built by Ron Thackeray of Carolina Audio.

Hi Tom,
I've ask a similar question of others who placed their tt in a corner or alcove. Have you ever leaned over so your head would be just above the cartridge while your system is playing anything with solid bass content at your normal listening level? If not, you might be surprised.
I have a 60" wide alcove with a built in shelf for my tt. Originally I placed the tt to the far right which meant the whole arc of the arm/cartridge was close to that corner. Once I accidentally heard how much bass build up was in that corner I moved my table closer to the left end of the shelf so the arm/cartridge was then near the mid point. I realized much cleaner sonics after moving the arm/cartridge out of a location with bass node buildup.
I might be worth experimenting.
"The piano ain't got no wrong notes." Thelonious Monk
if the thing was not so heavy and fiddily i might try, but seems to sound clean at any volume. maybe one day if i am feeling really strong.

A shout out to the fake plants really adds air to the soundstage!
My main rig is better, but this is the system I listen to 95% of the time.
There is also a Nakamichi 480 cassette deck, which is off to the side along with a ReQuest server and a Yaqin K9 DAC.

How do you like the Cadence loudspeakers? How did you audition them? Been pretty curious about these unusual loudspeakers.
Better!

This is my real Thrift Score Vinyl Rig. Total investment about $100.
The Klipsch KG-5 speakers have been replaced with Thiel 04a speakers so now it's the $195 Vinyl Rig.

In tire parlance looks like a 60 series aspect ratio. :)
The Vibraplane it sits on weighs 150 pounds the TT comes in at just over 200 pounds.....obviously it doesn't get moved much!

I certainly enjoyed my servo amp driven Monitor 4s!
Thank you. Sadly, Pee Wee has lost his voice. When I found him years ago in a junk store, his pull-string voice worked perfectly, but no longer. That's a good idea. I've got that old Champs record someplace. Haven't played that in long time. Thanks again.

For some reason I would rather see the 'average guy's' system versus the uber high-end audio porn...although that's cool too!

Okay! Here you go! Mine is an audio/video system centered around an Oppo BDP-105D. It also includes a couple of turntables. My preamp and phono stage are Pass Labs with a Parasound Halo A21 power amplifier and Thiel CS3.7 speakers.
Here it is!
