I need to replace one driver of my 1997 Kef Q55 that I own since new. Unfortunately, Kef don't have spares for that old production, so I was looking for used drivers. I've measured DC resistance on both sides to have a clue to get a good match. But, in many months I didn't find drivers with the exact match, except for one pair that I lost on a bid. All of the rest, have a little more. Both of mine are (dual concentric, only one mid woofer is blown) had:
mid woofer 7.2 ohms
tweeter 3.2 ohms. The ones that are available have:
mid woofer 7.9 ohms
tweeter 4.0 ohms. What can I espect from this mismatch, it is a neglectable difference or can cause a noticeable (or subtle) different output level from the other channel? Thanks in advance.
Btw, I have double checked from where this drivers are taken and has exact the same code from crossovers, drivers and of course speakers version. Even the drivers production number is more or less close.
Thanks in advance

I would suspect that the difference is more than just the resistance.
If possible buy those drivers in pairs. Better to have a slightly off spec pair than one off set channel.
Did you try contacting some driver dealers like Madisound?

Hey Charles,
thanks for answer me.
What are you refering with more than just the dc resistance?
According to the manufacturer, this speakers, has two possible drivers/crossover configuration, using the same code mid woofer/tweeter (uni-q dual concentric arrangement) on both and two possibly code woofer. Each on those configuration with a matching crossover, with different codes. I checked with the seller and he has exactly the same mid woofer/tweeter + woofer + crossover codes than me.
I have searched these drivers for almost a year and I found only one pair with the exact same dc resistance and at least I found 3 more, with a higher dc resistance. Unfortunatelly, the 2 that are listed now, are single drivers from different sellers.
Madisound do not have any spares for my speakers.
